WELCOME

The project on the European Year of People with Disabilities (EYPD) has come to a successful end, but the interest in the electronic newsletter is still as big as it was, with people still signing on, so we have decided to continue the format on a regular basis. The European Year 2003 was a special opportunity to change the future for people with disabilities including pws. Of course, our common work will go on after this year. For Stuttering Associations, 2004 holds other challenges including: The International Year of the Child Who Stutters. More on this further on.

ELSA Brochure on International and European Disability Policy a success

ELSA has put together a brochure containing all current existing policy - not only related to stuttering but to disability in general. The brochure was launched at the ELSA conference on disability and stuttering awareness at Strasbourg. It was also introduced at the European Disability Forum (EDF) seminar on "policies and measures against discrimination of people with disabilities" in Europe at Genova in October 2003. It has also been disseminated among all European disability organisations and national disability councils. The brochure was produced as part of ELSA's project in the framework of the European Year of Disabled People 2003. If you are interested in the brochure, please contact us or visit our website.
