FEBRUARY 2003 The People's March and the EYPD Bus TourAs part of the EYPD there will be a "Peoples March" which will consist of a Bus tour. The bus will be visiting every country. We ask everybody to find out when the bus is coming to your country, when it does let the EYPD organisers know what you are doing and ask for your events to be linked to the bus visit and for your activities to be put on the EYPD website. It is free advertising paid for by the Commission. "GET ON BOARD". A Trip to Rome in December?ELSA has been informed by the Commission that all events put on the EYPD web-site will be viewed by the officials and a number of organisations and a wide range of disabilities will be selected to present their work at the EYPD closing ceremony in Rome in December 2003. Here is an incentive for a possible trip to Italy to present your work! News from the Danish Stuttering Association (FSD)Activities for young pws The Danish Stuttering Association (FSD) is hosting a series of summer-camps for pws from different age groups. A weekend camp for pws up to 10 years old with their parents, a weekend camp for children age 11-13 with one parent and a one week camp for adolescents 14-17 years old, all held on an island off the Danish mainland. Also a group of 18-22 year old pws are to participate in a five-day survival tour mostly by canoe along a Danish river. These events are organised by very active parent groups together with the FSD. Nordic Stuttering Seminar Every year one of the Nordic countries host the Nordic seminar, this year it is the turn of the FSD and it will be held in Odense, Denmark. Take a look at http://www.fsd.dk/ns/ns2003.html for further information (Danish language only). The seminar is scheduled for 11-14 September 2003. The theme of the seminar is Stutterguidelines and rights, a topic pertinent both to therapists and pws. |
