The European Year of People with Disabilities (EYDP) 2003 - News and Links

As mentioned in the first edition, the newsletter will focus on stuttering information and the European Year of People with Disabilities (EYPD). The EYPD is a great opportunity for everybody, national stuttering associations and people who stutter (pws), to raise awareness of stuttering.

The European Commission has chosen five European NGO's to help raise awareness of particular disabilities. ELSA is one of the NGO's and throughout the Year "STUTTERING" as a disability and raising awareness of STUTTERING will be promoted. So this is a great chance for everyone connected with stuttering to "GET ON BOARD" and raise awareness of stuttering.

The European Year of People with Disabilities (EYPD) is now LIVE

Opening ceremonies for the EYPD have been taking place all over the Europe. The main one sponsored by the European Commission took place in Athens under the Greek Presidency on the 26 January 2003.

At the ceremony the European Commission asked everybody - European, national, regional, local groups, people with all forms of disability and everybody connected with disability to
