1 August 09 - ELSA Youth Meeting a huge success

31 Young people who stutter attended the Youth Meeting at Giggleswick near Settle England.

The theme was Human Rights and Intercultural dialogue. The meeting was part funded by the European Youth Foundation of the Council of Europe.

Feedback for the delegates was that it was a great success. Here are some of the quotes from the delegates

  • The best week of my life.
  • Very relevant, perfectly structured, a good mixture of everything
  • Well organised, great job
  • I will take home knowledge of human rights, I learnt I have rights
  • I have learnt that stammering is OK and that people who stammer are the coolest people in the whole world with big hearts
  • I have learnt to speak out
  • I have lost my shyness
  • I am going to get more involved in my country's national stuttering association
  • There was lots of fun and I learnt a lot
  • I am going to use the knowledge I learnt this week and be more active
